Our Curriculum

Year 6

Welcome to the Year Six page!

Here, you will find information about our entire curriculum, including the exciting, meaningful, thought-provoking projects that we will undertake this year.

We begin as geographers and artists as we embark on our Climate Change project, What Does it Take to Transform?, followed by a deep dive in the world of Fairtrade considering the local and worldwide issue of poverty as we move into the spring term. Both of these projects allow children to consider the concepts of sustainability, duty and loyalty, amongst others, and provide opportunities for children to develop as safe, kind, responsible citizens. During the summer term, the children will embark on a journey of creation as designers of electric buggies, followed by a step back in time, working as historians on our Ancient Greece project.

As well as providing a rich and engaging curriculum for the children, the purposeful outcomes ensure that their excellent learning is shared with you, their families, and the wider community through an exhibition, assembly and an end-of-year production.

As you can see, lots to learn and lots of fun to be had in Year 6! Use the Curriculum Map and Project Posters below to find out more details of what else is in store for the children this year.
