‘To learn a language is to have one more window from which to look at the world.’
Language is all around us. We experience it every day, with every human interaction. It is a vital means of communication with the world which is why we creating a thirst for linguistics. Our mission is to instil a lifelong interest in language.
At GBJS we believe in learning excellence. We achieve this in French by involving the local community. We invite the Alec Hunter GCSE French students to run a ‘French Day’ for pupils across our school. This raises awareness for the love of language and that learning French in primary is the foundation to further learning in Secondary. We also include French in cross-curricular learning in our school shows and end of topic projects. These reinforce the children's knowledge, skills and understanding in this valuable subject.
