  • Year 6 visit from farmer Collins

    On Wednesday 22nd December 2022, local farmer, Mr Chris Collins, came into school to speak to Year 6 about being a farmer. He captivated the pupils with his tales about working on a huge farm in America and driving many different engines, including tractors and combines.  He went on to explain why farmers need our help and what he is doing to diverse the farm.  However, the highlight of the morning was when he revealed that he had come on his tractor. Remarks of "It's huge!", "It's massive!" and "I've never seen anything like it before!" could be heard as the pupils walked down to see it. After a great deal of time inspecting the tractor, the pupils watched as Mrs Hausner (a much-loved lsa) climbed up to sit in the seat.

  • Year 4 visit from local councillors

    In the Autumn Term, Year 4 were lucky enough to present their research about the amount of litter found in the school grounds to Cllr Andrew Hensman and Cllr Wendy Schmitt. They wrote persuasive letters, created emotive and persuasive posters as well as design new bins to convince them that we needed to replace our current bins.

  • Year 4 Save the Children

    Before Christmas, Year 4 were focusing on whether compassion could bring change to the world. As part of this project, the children looked at countries that suffered from volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and war and took part in a zoom call with a volunteer from Save the Children to learn what they do to help others in need. This inspired the children to want to fundraise money for the charity, which they did through designing and making their own badges to sell for a donation towards the charity.
